Today's location Pasir Ris Park - is a great place for families to have a fun day out. It is also a great place for birding with a few different habitats in close proximity. Aside from modern park activities, it also features a carefully preserved six-hectare mangrove forest. With multiple trails and a Mangrove Boardwalk, visitors can explore the beauty of the mangrove forest and get close to its inhabitants. The three-storey Bird Watching Tower located within the mangrove forest allows bird enthusiasts to observe birds in their natural surroundings.

I have now visited this Park four times and it never fails to impress. The development within the community around it has been quite profound over the past four years. To have this green lung maintained and respected is something that Singaporeans should well be proud of. One the high- lights for me was to see the three environmental classes for young children being taken on an excursion through the park. We ran into them on the Mangrove boardwalk and the enthusiasm and knowledge of the guides was infectious. They pointed out items of interest that we would have missed had we not been shown. A classic example was the Mangrove Pit-viper, well camouflaged near the boardwalk.
